Does the meat cause cancer?

Human beings have eaten meat since the beginning of time. Pork, beef, chicken, and fish are some of the main sources of food that are consumed all around the world.  We can see every day these products and their derivatives on our tables from the milk in the morning to the grilled chicken in our salad. Some people believe that meat is the main cause of cancer, specifically, breast, colorectal, and prostate cancer. The point I want to make is that cancer is a relatively new decease and the consumption of meat has existed for a very long time.

There are many reasons to eat meat. First, meat is one of the most nutritious foods in the world. It has a large amount of vitamins such as, B12, B3, B6, Iron, and Zinc which are responsible for the good performance of the body. As an important aspect, the vitamin B12 cannot be obtained from any plant or seed; it is only acquired from an animal source and it is indispensable for the formation of red blood cells. The proteins found in meat are essential for the good function of muscles, brain, and other organs in the body. They prevent some degenerative and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, proteins play an important role in preventing arthritis. For example, fish meat makes the kidney absorb the calcium and it promotes the mineralization of bones and teeth(authoritynutrition.com).

The second reason to eat meat is the fast action in the regeneration of tissues. When people are victims of a fire or any kind of exposition to heat that cause burn skin, doctors recommend to eat meat. This is because this food contains a large amount of proteins and amino acids which are responsible for the formation of cellular tissue.
Opponents argue that meat in its totality is dangerous and puts our live at high risk of suffering many diseases including cancer, but nobody has proven meat is the primary cause of cancer. Instead, many doctors believe and can prove that meat is very nutritious and has many irrevocable benefits.
In conclusion, it is important to recognize that a valance in our diet is necessary for a healthy life. Including each group of food with the best quality is a guarantee for the future. Every food source has different properties and each one has a specific purpose in the good performance of the human body.

Heart Attack
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 610 000 people die in the United States every year from heart attacks. Usually it is called the silent killer because it does not show any symptoms and people don’t know that they have heart problems until they are affected directly.   Hypertension and high cholesterol are two of the main causes of this problem.

Hypertension is a common and dangerous condition that many people suffer due to bad eating habits and lack of exercise. Often, people consume large amounts of fast food instead of vegetables and fruit. These kinds of food are unhealthy and full of saturated fat which causes an obstruction in the veins and the blood cannot course adequately. Most of the time when people do not take care of their blood pressure, it rises more than normal levels, causing heart attacks or developing heart diseases.

Another factor that is commonly seen in patients with a previous history of heart attack is high cholesterol. There are two types of cholesterol in blood. The good type is made by the liver to satisfy the body’s needs. It is also called HDL (high-density lipoprotein), and it protects the heart from many diseases. On the other hand, the bad type or LDL (low-density lipoprotein) is responsible for the obstruction of the arteries and it prevents the blood flow to the main organs of the body including the heart and the brain.
Although this problem is the leading cause of death in the United States, it is a problem that can be treated and, even better, prevented. By improving our eating habits and exercising at least 30 minutes every day, we can reduce significantly the risk of suffering a heart attack. Also people that have hypertension should maintain their levels of blood pressure and recognize the symptoms of heart attack. It is important that people understand that this disease takes the lives of 1 out of 3 heart attack victims every day, but the solution is in our hands.
