Does the meat cause cancer?

Human beings have eaten meat since the beginning of time. Pork, beef, chicken, and fish are some of the main sources of food that are consumed all around the world.  We can see every day these products and their derivatives on our tables from the milk in the morning to the grilled chicken in our salad. Some people believe that meat is the main cause of cancer, specifically, breast, colorectal, and prostate cancer. The point I want to make is that cancer is a relatively new decease and the consumption of meat has existed for a very long time.

There are many reasons to eat meat. First, meat is one of the most nutritious foods in the world. It has a large amount of vitamins such as, B12, B3, B6, Iron, and Zinc which are responsible for the good performance of the body. As an important aspect, the vitamin B12 cannot be obtained from any plant or seed; it is only acquired from an animal source and it is indispensable for the formation of red blood cells. The proteins found in meat are essential for the good function of muscles, brain, and other organs in the body. They prevent some degenerative and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, proteins play an important role in preventing arthritis. For example, fish meat makes the kidney absorb the calcium and it promotes the mineralization of bones and teeth(authoritynutrition.com).

The second reason to eat meat is the fast action in the regeneration of tissues. When people are victims of a fire or any kind of exposition to heat that cause burn skin, doctors recommend to eat meat. This is because this food contains a large amount of proteins and amino acids which are responsible for the formation of cellular tissue.
Opponents argue that meat in its totality is dangerous and puts our live at high risk of suffering many diseases including cancer, but nobody has proven meat is the primary cause of cancer. Instead, many doctors believe and can prove that meat is very nutritious and has many irrevocable benefits.
In conclusion, it is important to recognize that a valance in our diet is necessary for a healthy life. Including each group of food with the best quality is a guarantee for the future. Every food source has different properties and each one has a specific purpose in the good performance of the human body.

Heart Attack
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 610 000 people die in the United States every year from heart attacks. Usually it is called the silent killer because it does not show any symptoms and people don’t know that they have heart problems until they are affected directly.   Hypertension and high cholesterol are two of the main causes of this problem.

Hypertension is a common and dangerous condition that many people suffer due to bad eating habits and lack of exercise. Often, people consume large amounts of fast food instead of vegetables and fruit. These kinds of food are unhealthy and full of saturated fat which causes an obstruction in the veins and the blood cannot course adequately. Most of the time when people do not take care of their blood pressure, it rises more than normal levels, causing heart attacks or developing heart diseases.

Another factor that is commonly seen in patients with a previous history of heart attack is high cholesterol. There are two types of cholesterol in blood. The good type is made by the liver to satisfy the body’s needs. It is also called HDL (high-density lipoprotein), and it protects the heart from many diseases. On the other hand, the bad type or LDL (low-density lipoprotein) is responsible for the obstruction of the arteries and it prevents the blood flow to the main organs of the body including the heart and the brain.
Although this problem is the leading cause of death in the United States, it is a problem that can be treated and, even better, prevented. By improving our eating habits and exercising at least 30 minutes every day, we can reduce significantly the risk of suffering a heart attack. Also people that have hypertension should maintain their levels of blood pressure and recognize the symptoms of heart attack. It is important that people understand that this disease takes the lives of 1 out of 3 heart attack victims every day, but the solution is in our hands.

Natural medicine vs Modern medicine.

Since ancient times, people have been treating their diseases and pains in several ways and with different products. For many time they have used plants, flowers, oils, and medicinal trees to cure conditions, such as pains, stomach indigestions and wounds. The scientific advances and the necessity of new and fast solutions for diseases nowadays has caused the development of modern medicine. On the other hand, the use of natural medicine is no longer as popular, but it is still very important for doctors and patients all around the world. Although these methods are useful they are also very different.

One big difference between modern and natural medicine is how they are made. Modern medicine bases its products on combinations of substances developed by pharmaceutical industries using the most recent technology and knowledge acquired by scientists. Some examples are pills and shots used to treat any kind of pain or infection. Also procedures such as ultrasound, radiation, and radiography are part of the modern technology and they are used with patients who have cancer, terminal diseases or any disease that needs their use. On the other hand, natural medicine uses more natural products with almost no special complexity. Its products are made by mixing natural elements, such as plants, flowers, oils, honey and sometimes stones.  They use antique techniques learned from generations to generation such as acupuncture, aromatherapy, and homeopathy. In these procedures they also use natural elements like seeds, aromatic plants and stones.

Also, the effectiveness time differs in both types of medicines. Modern medicine responds to the necessity of immediate solutions to many diseases and emergency procedures. Diseases such as HIV, renal failure, and asthma need quick attention, or as a result, people could die in a few days without modern medicine; on the other hand, natural medicine does not offer an immediate solution for the treatment of diseases. However, ailments such as stress, digestive, and skin problems are better treated with natural than with chemical-based  products because in this case pharmaceutical medicine will aggravate the condition of patients affecting their overall health.

In some ways, modern medicine offers advantages and disadvantages because the overuse of it affects the general well-being of people, causing immunodeficiency, resistance to antibiotics, and the reappearance of new diseases in the future. In contrast to modern medicine, the natural type uses products less aggressive on the body and helps people to avoid future health issues. Both types of medicine are useful nowadays. Each one is important depending on the situation. Many alternatives have been developed to improve people’s health. Sometimes doctors require a fast solution to save the lives of people. Then the modern medicine is the protagonist, but in other cases, people need a less aggressive option. Then the natural medicine becomes the best choice.

Causes of Diabetes

Today, more than 30% of the population suffer from diabetes (DiabetesStatistics). This disease affects more people every year, including children. There are two types of diabetes:diabetes type one, which is commonly called juvenile Diabetes, and type two, which most of the time affects adults. Both of them consist of a lack of insulin in the body, causing the levels of sugar in the blood to rise higher than normal. There are many causes that lead to the development of Diabetes.

(Public Domain)
One of the main causes of diabetes is the amount and quality of carbohydrates that people consume. There are two types of carbohydrates: fast absorption and slow absorption. If people consume fast absorption carbohydrates, then this will increase the levels of sugar in their blood. Those kinds of carbohydrates are all the products made with processed flower, such as white bread, desserts, chips, etc. If people instead, consume slow absorption carbohydrates, the body will have enough time to metabolize those carbohydrates, and the sugar in the blood will not rise so quickly.

Another cause of diabetes is a sedentary style life. When people exercise, they reduce their risk of suffering from this disease. For example, walking 30 minutes every day helps the body  keep the levels of sugar on track and within acceptable parameters by accelerating the metabolism and allowing a person to burn blood sugar for 24 hours.  Also, exercise often reduces cholesterol and any possibility of getting hypertension.

It is important to know that diabetes can leave a person more vulnerable to getting several health issues ,such as insulin dependence, renal failure, amputation, blindness, diabetes coma, and even death. Adults and parents have to be aware about this problem and take action against it as early as they can. Making small changes, such as changing the kind of bread they eat and getting enough exercise is a big step in the fight against Diabetes.
